BEST COUNTRY TO BE BORN IN AFRICA

The best country to be born in Africa index tries to highlight the everyday challenges facing Africans. It attempts to measure which country will provide the opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead. The economic intelligence unit every year tries to determine the best country to be born in annually through its where to be born index.
The economic intelligence unit for analyzing this,  is based on result of linking life satisfaction surveys to to the objective determinants of quality of life across countries. The criteria involves using so many variables to determine the quality of life. The include life expectancy,  job security, state of political freedoms, GDP per capita. The survey involved more than 70 countries in the world and each country receives a rating  between 10 and 0 depending on the quality of life the can provide.

However, our nationalistic tendency in Africa of course makes us believe that wherever we are born in Africa is the best place  except for extreme cases of war. But of course statistically, we have to objectively determine the African countries that gives the best opportunity for quality of life.
From our analysis of the survey, the countries that provide the best opportunities are not African countries, the are majorly dominated by Western countries. African countries are the least favorable place to be born in generally. Despite more than 80 countries included in the survey, only 7 African countries made the list of top 80 and no African was in the top 50 in the world ranking.
Moreover, the highest ranked country in Africa is South Africa and it has rating of 5.89 out of 10 and is followed by Algeria with a rating of 5.86 out of 10. Here is a full list of  the countries and their ratings:
