TOP 10 HAPPIEST AND SADDEST COUNTRIES IN AFRICA
The happiest and saddest countries in Africa is way to determine sustainable development and solutions network by the United nations World happiness report. The global world happiness report was a way to measure the level of happiness around the world. The aim was to help government fashion out ways to help guide economic and political policies, determine the state of happiness around the world, causes of happiness,misery and also policy implications of government around the world.
The report was first published in 2012 and the report is now released annually. The method for collecting data involves the use of variables like real GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity and perceptions of corrections. 150 countries and more than 30 African countries were included in the survey and each country was ranked on a scale of 10 very happy and 0 for least Happy.
Stanstats took the liberty of analysing the survey to determine which African country is the happiest and which one is the least Happy. According to the survey, African continent is the least happiest compared to other continents where people live in the world.
The survey also showed that no African country was in the top 50 based on ranks and an African country is last on the list. It also showed that war and famine is not necessarily a tool to determine happiness because war torn countries like libya and Somalia are happier than countries like Ghana and South Africa which are stable. The happiest country in Africa is Mauritania and is followed by libya and Somalia while the saddest is Burundi followed by Togo and Benin.
