MOST VISITED COUNTRIES IN AFRICA

  Every year, millions of people come into Africa for different purposes, most especially tourism. Many African countries rely on tourism as a source of revenue and the continent has a very rich heritage of tourist centres which include waterfalls, game reserve etc. Africa has being a target of many adventure seekers and Western explorers.
                             
  The United nations World tourism organization as part of their world tourism publication, releases the world tourism rankings. The publication tries to capture a wide range of data which includes revenue generated by inbound tourism and by the expenditures of outbound travelers. According to the publication, their were 53 million international arrivals in Africa excluding Egypt because it fell under the middle Eastern region but Stanstats included Egypt in its publication.
                                  
                                     
 According to the publication, the most visited countris in Africa include:

  1. MOROCCO :The north African nation is the most visited country in Africa. The country received more than 10 million visitors last year. Whether is game of thrones fans or western explorers who throng to the country because of its Atlas mountains, great sand of dunes and beach resort. The country also has 9 UNESCO world Heritage sites. 
  2. SOUTH AFRICA : The country received approximately 9 million visitors. The country has a wide range of national parks and beautiful coastlines that visitors find attractive. The safari wildlife is very popular among tourists. 
  3. EGYPT:The north African country which is known as the cradle of human civilization is one of the most favorite places for tourists. The country received more than 9 million visitors last year. The Egyptian pyramid and mummies is quite popular among tourist. 
  4. TUNISIA:The north African nation is fourth on the list. The country has experienced decline in the number visitors coming to the country because of terrorism but it still managed to attract more than 6 million visitors. Tourists like to visit the Sahara desert. 
  5. Algeria :The country is starting to become traveler's favorite with over 2.7 million visitors last year. The country has a variety of ancient Arab architecture and the Dhagger national is becoming popular among tourists.
